LETTER FROM MANIKE

Dear friends and supporters,

I am glad that I could speak to you again as a happy person after achieving another goal successfully.  My second surgery happened just 3 months after the first one.  My consultant Mr. Bailey, to whom I am very grateful, said the surgery went on as planned.  Even though I was discharged 6 days after the surgery, I caught a bad chest infection which kept me quite ill for a few days.  Now I am getting better under the care of Wilbert and the family, to whom I am very grateful.

At this moment I should like to remind thankfully those of you who were there to help me to make half of my dream come true.  All the generous donors who helped us to make fruitful our efforts, Ian Lauder,  the fund raising consultant from Agemics Group, SD(B) board members and all the other Subud members and supporters are in my mind very gratefully.

My dear friends, as I have got a great opportunity to come to the U.K. I am hoping to follow a course in Child Development at the Open University in between the surgery and the rest period.  Wilbert and I went to the Open University and found out the details and the course is due to start in Feb. 2004.  As I have worked with the children at the Suhadha project for 9 years and also as I am interested in that field I thought it would be a better course for me.  I do hope after gaining this qualification I would be able to help the society in a better way mainly in Sri Lanka.  When I have gained this qualification I also would be able to register at the British Psychological Society.  In addition Wilbert is hoping to guide me to attend the seminar on the International Child Development Programme which will be held in Spain next year.

My dear friends I do hope that you would be happy to hear these news about me.  I was motivated to do this by my happiness I have gained today given by you.

Thank you and may you gain happy life with health and wealth by the grace of God.  In Buddhism “May Triple Gem Bless You”.
