June 2001
Rosemary Harrison and Laura Lesley from the SD (Britain) Board attended the kejiwaan meeting in Austria. Apart from benefitting from Ibu Rahayu’s talks and testing and absorbing the relaxing atmosphere of Baden, we were pleased to discover representatives of SD Boards from other European countries, and Rosanna Hille, also there. Although we had not expected to ‘work’while there, several unofficial meetings took place with Arnaud De Lune, Valentin Willecke, Lawrence Fryer, Simone Van Beek, Hugo Flem and Rosanna Hille. Since our Conference in Lewes last year, some efforts have been made to work more closely with our colleagues in other countries but at Baden these seemed to crystallize more clearly. When several SDs are supporting the same
project, it seems sensible to co-operate on funding strategy and
feedback from the projects and we hope that in future we can build on
this initiative and create our own European Union (and maybe include
others too)! DONORS TO AMOR Following advice from SDIA and Subud Colombia, SD(Britain) will no longer be supporting the Amor school in Bogota. We intend to divert the funds we have in ouraccounts partly to help reimburse teachers from Fundacion Amor who were not paid, and partly to support another project in Columbia when we have advice from Subud Colombia and SDIA. We ask any donors who are not happy to contact Mark McElroy. |
