F. E. AMOR, COLOMBIA
Following a very difficult period the situation at the Fundacion Educativa Amor school has stabilised. It is now led by Sebastian de los Rios, with a new executive board who are mainly Subud members. The aim of the school continues to be “educating through love and work to build peace”. As well as providing education with an enterprise focus, it also acts as a safe haven from the violence in the area for 270 children. The project is being monitored by Susila Dharma International and SD Germany, and considerable progress has been made since the crisis a couple of years ago. Costs have been cut and debts reduced, but the financial situation is still precarious. A fund raiser has been employed, and he has produced a promotional video CD (copy available from Michael@SusilaDharma.org.uk). The Padrinos scheme has been relaunched, with supporters pledging the £200/year cost of keeping one child at the school. Click for details SD(B) has started supporting the project again, with a grant of $2,500 towards teachers’ salaries, and we are happy to accept further donations from members. Go to SDIA website for more information.
