SUMMARY OF 89th MEETING OF SUSILA DHARMA (BRITAIN) 7th SEPTEMBER 2003

International Child Development Programme
The board agreed to provide $3,500 to provide seed funding for a second self training project in Paraguay to help build up sustainability. $600 had also been contributed towards the ongoing ICDP projects in Argentina.

Wisma Mulia
Building work on the new extension (a new bathroom and first floor flat above it) was almost finished; the assisted bath and hoist had been installed and the main remaining work was decoration. The auction of the necklace donated by Viviana Bulow-Huber (proceeds to Wisma Mulia) is being publicised in SD (News), the Subud Britain Journal and Subud Voice.

Fundraising for Indonesia
The board agreed to renew the fundraising agreement with Lorna Dowson-Collins until the end of December 2003. Lorna is now in Indonesia for three months trying to co-ordinate work on the various Subud-related projects in Kalimantan and preparing proposals to apply for grant funding for these projects.

Mithra Foundation, India
Our application to the Community Fund for 5-year grant funding for the pre-school and primary school was unsuccessful, after getting to the second stage. The board confirmed its previous agreement to provide funding of £9,000 per annum over a three-year period. One priority was to find a local head teacher. Lorena will visit Mithra in November to help with the curriculum and assess training needs.

Board Members
Raphael Bate tendered his resignation from the board, as he is now living in France. He will continue to be involved with the Mithra project as before and give reports to the board. The board thanked Raphael for all he had done for SD(B) so far.
Two new directors/trustees - Howard Ray and Sjarifah Roberts - were appointed.

F E Amor, Colombia
The board agreed to co-operate with F E Amor in their efforts to raise funds through the plan padrinos scheme, which did not now involve sponsoring a specific child. In raising earmarked funds for this project, we should explain to potential donors that its financial position, though much improved, was still precarious.

Asociacion Vivir, Ecuador
This integrated health promotion programme, started by Eliana Garzon, has become a nationwide programme supported by the government. Eliana needed $10,000 to pay for two assistants to help with administration, and SD(B) agreed to contribute the last $750 to make up this amount. A further $6,000 is needed to fund a PA for Eliana and SD(B) will try to help with this.

Next Meeting
Our next board meeting will be on Saturday 22nd November 2003 at Reigate, Surrey.
