SUMMARY
OF 87th MEETING OF SUSILA DHARMA (BRITAIN)
3/4th APRIL 2003
Chairmanship
The Board expressed their sadness at the death of Rosemary
Harrison.
Some Board members and other Subud members had been able to
attend her funeral, either in the village of Lindale or at the
interment in Manchester.
Following testing, Michael Wisnom will be Acting Chair until the next
AGM in August and Laura Lesley will be Vice-Chair.
Treasurer
Mark McElroy is now back in UK and busy dealing with SD(B)
finances.
Maybe because of his absence abroad, or Rosemary’s death, he
reported that donations had seriously fallen away this year so far
which will affect the amount of support we can give to projects.
A substantial sum from SD(B)’s General Fund has to be
ringfenced for promised future funding of Mithra.
Sustainable
Livelihoods in Kalimantan
Sachlan North and Lorna Dowson-Collins have made another visit to
Kalimantan to monitor the projects there.
The TSLICK (Towards Sustainable Livelihoods in Central
Kalimantan) programme is now registered as a Foundation and is working
with Government bodies and other NGOs.
Another appli-cation for an expanded programme will be made to
the Community Fund later in the year.
Mithra
Foundation, India
Raphael Bate and Maurice Palfreyman had spent time at the Mithra
project.
A grant application for the next stage, including the training
of teachers in the new Vocational Centre built with funds from SD
Germany, has been submitted to the Community Fund.
SD(B) agreed to contribute £18,000 over the next 2 years to
this.
Wisma
Mulia
SD(B)
has now achieved sufficient to fund the assisted bath and hoist and
building work has already started on the new bathroom.
Clear
Path International
SD(B) has sent $3,000 to this charity supported by an American
Subud member which helps people injured by land mines.
I.C.D.P.
SD(B) has continued to support ICDP projects in South America, by
enabling Lailah Armstrong to travel for evaluation and further training
of the participants.
Shkola
Vera, Ukraine
SD(B) contribute a third of the cost, together with SD Germany and SD
Netherlands, of a minibus to carry disabled children and their parents
to and from this school.
Euro

meeting from 13 – 16 March which was attended by representatives from
13 countries.

of SDIA and ICDP respectively.

Rosanna Hille and Virginia Thomas came from SDIA in Canada
There were many constructive discussions about various projects
which we jointly support.
Susila
Dharma support in UK
The Board would welcome support from members either by becoming a Board
member (following testing), or by taking an interest in a particular
aspect of our work such as one specific project or fundraising or help
at Congress. Anyone who has felt any promptings in this
direction, please contact a Board member and discuss.
